FISHIN’ REPORT WEEK OF 06/13/24

Well it’s been so hot that the hens are layin’ hard boiled eggs…

But the fishin’ is very good.. the afternoons are getting way up there, so take precautions.. jump in the lake..

Whitebass fishing very good early morning using top water lures, kastmasters, swimbaits and slabs around marina del sur, horse island, rattle snake and McRae Canyon. Top water best about 1 hour after first light. Watch for seagulls congregating around points indicating feeding fish on top.
Whitebass breaking water with some small boils.

Walleyes hitting in 6 to 9 feet of water around gravel points leading to the channel and around bushes, Pirates cove has been a good spot and around castle rock using crawler style bait and Jughead tipped with night crawlers, some also being caught on chartreuse medium diving crankbaits.

Some Crappies biting at night around the marinas under lights with small jigs and small live minnows.

Lots of sunfish and bluegills being caught around marinas and large boulders later in the morning using small hooks with little red worms or cut up night crawlers with and without bobbers.

Large mouth and small mouth bass good early morning top water using pop r’s and whopper ploppers on points and around bushes in back of coves. Late morning some being caught in 10 to 20 feet of water using wacky worms and crawlers type lures fishing it very slow off the bottom.
