FISHIN’ REPORT WEEK OF 06/26/24

The fishin has continued to be very good.. The Walleye have finally turned on !!
Thanks to Frank Vilorio for this report..

Walleye fishing has been very good due to dropping water levels, the habitat is there. Target gravel points and sand bars 4 to 12 feet. Good lures are medium diving crankbaits , jig heads with curlytail jigs, swim baits and slabs. Mid morning bite seems to be better.
Whitebass has been better after the rain last week slowing them down. Top water bite has been good early morning around Marina del Sur, rock canyon and jet boat cove. Kastmasters, swimbaits and slabs spoons have been productive. Some top water has been going on early morning good lures on top water are Pop-Rs , small zara spooks and whopper ploppers. Watch for seagulls diving down on feeding schools.
Largemouth bass and small mouth bass are good around Rock structures and bushes flipping soft plastics, crawbaits and wacky worms. Some fish are also being caught off drop offs and humps in deeper water.
Crappie have been slow although some have been caught fishing at night at the marinas under lights with small minnows and Crappie jigs. Catch has been good early morning and at night using cut shad ,carp and night crawlers.
Striper fishing slow, one angler this week reported catching a 17 pounder on live blue gill.
